It is my sad duty to report the passing of our beloved foundation member Mr Ron Carmichael on Sunday 18th July 2021, he was 91.
Ron Carmichael along with Michael Donnelly were the local Rotary members who’s vision and determination saw the formation of our club. Ron was a fine gental man with an infectious enthusiasm for life.
Ron was made a Life Member of our Club in 2016 and I think the following words from that award says it all.
Life membership was conferred conferred upon Mr Ron Carmichael for extraordinary service in establishment of this club.
In recognition and sincere appreciation for his tireless and outstanding service in the establishment of the Probus Club of Taylors Lakes. “This honour recognises Ron’s commitment to the ‘True Spirit’ of Probus; Friendship, Fellowship and fun; someone who is happy to provide ‘service above self’. “
Our love and best wishes go out to his lovely wife Melva and family.

I had the privilege of knowing Ron from day one. He knew my name and always greeted me and said a few words when we met. He will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.

We have lost the founding father of the Probus Club of Taylors Lakes. Ron Carmichael was our first Membership Officer and his enthusiasm and encouragement kept the club alive during the difficult first couple of years. A fine man and friend. Graeme Hewitt.
