  • 15 grams fresh yeast or 5-7 grams of Dried Yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250 ml warm milk
  • 250 ml warm water
  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 4 tbsp cold water
  • 1 egg white lighly beaten

Instructions

Making the mix

  • Start with a large mixing bowl
  • combine the flour, salt and yeast
  • mix the water and milk together
  • pour the milk water mixture into the bowl,
  • beat vigorously (feel free to use an electic mixer) until you have a smooth batter

Rising

  • Cover the mix and leave in a warm location to rise
  • let rise until the risen mixture looks ready to drop (this can take 30-45 mins longer if cooler)

Prepare the grill

  • You will need a heavy based frypan, griddle or hot BBQ to cook these, so set these to heat

When ready to cook

  • disolve the bicarbonate of soda in the 4 tbsp of water.
  • beat the bicarbonate mix into the batter
  • the fold the beaten egg white into the mix
  • The mix should be the consistancy of thick pouring cream. If too thick add a little water (not too much)

Cooking

  • Cook the pancakes as you would any other pancake, but be careful the pan is not too hot - this is a bit of trial and error for you
  • the pancakles will bubble on top when they set flip them over and let cook until slighly brown.

Enjoy - yum
