QR Code Part 5 – Victorian QR Check-in App – Updated – Save a Favourite and more!

Its been a few weeks since I last wrote on those subject but so many changes have occurred with the Service Victoria App for Check-ins. So Its about time I brought you up to date.

The following newer features are now available:

  1. See where and when you have checked-in
  2. Delete a check-in from the phone
  3. Save a location as a favourite

See where you have checked in!

Yes, you can see where you’ve checked-in over the past 28 days.

To see your check-in history:

  • Open the Service Victoria app
  • Tap the clock icon next to the check-in button (on the left)
  • Your check-in history will show
  • Tap the clock icon again to close your check-in history

Delete a location you have checked-in!

Yes, you can quickly and easily remove a record of where you’ve visited from the view inside the app.

This will only remove it from your check-in history as it appears on your phone – it won’t remove the check-in location from the contact tracing database.

Department of Health officials will still be able to contact you in the event of an outbreak.

Services Victoria have a short 30-second video showing you how to remove a visit from your history – I’ve included it below.

I’ve saved the best till last! – Save a check-in as a Favourite!

We can now make checking in even faster and easier. We can now save favourite locations on our phones!

Once saved these Favourites will display as soon as you open the app.

There are two ways of doing this:

  1. From your Check-in history or
  2. While checking in.

Save favourite from check-in history list:

  1. Open the Service Victoria app on your phone.
  2. Tap the ‘clock’ icon next to the check-in button.
  3. You’ll see a list of check-ins from the past 28 days.
  4. Tap the check-in location you want to add to favourites.
  5. You’ll see a confirmation screen with a green tick. At the bottom of the confirmation screen, you’ll see ‘save as a favourite check-in’. Toggle the button to the right.
  6. Press ‘done’.
  7. This will save the location to your favourite list.
  8. Your most recent 6 favourites will show on your home screen. View a complete list of your favourite locations by tapping ‘see all’ next to your most recent favourite check-ins on the home screen.
  9. Delete and reorder your favourites by tapping on ‘see more’ next to your favourite check-ins on the home screen.

To save a favourite location at check-in:

  1. Open the Service Victoria app on your phone.
  2. Tap the ‘Check-in’ button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Point your phone’s camera at the QR code on the poster until you see it on your camera screen and wait for the prompts.
  4. Tap ‘check-in to this location’.
  5. You’ll see a confirmation screen with a green tick. At the bottom of the confirmation screen, you’ll see ‘save as a favourite check-in’. Toggle the button to the right.
  6. Press ‘done’.
  7. This will save the location to your favourite list.

Using a favourite
